Welcome to Spring Vale Rambling Class Darwen
As a rambling club we enjoy nothing more than walking around our local area of Darwen and Blackburn close to the West Pennine Moors in North East Lancashire. We also enjoy walking in the Ribble Valley, over the Bowland Fells and occasionally we enjoy a walk in the Lakes or Yorkshire Dales.
We regularly meet for a walk at places such as Tockholes, Livesey, Hoddlesden, Wilpshire, Witton, Belthorn, Entwistle, Rivington, Great Harwood, Accrington, Salesbury, Hurst Green, Ribchester, Whalley and Clitheroe.

This year will be our 129th Season of walking.
Walking is an easy way to keep fit and active. Your health is important to you.
The Class was formed in 1895 and we are now in our 129th season. We believe we are the oldest walking club in the country to have maintained a continuous annual walking programme. We were originally establshed as an educational class, but we now run as a walking club offering a variety of walks from 6 to 9 miles in length.
When: We organise walks on Saturdays starting at 11.00am and on a Tuesday evening starting at 07.00pm during the summer months.
How? Make your own transport arrangements to the published meeting place.
From? Meeting places for the start of the walk are detailed in the membership syllabus. See the walks programme page for details.
Try? Normally we would encourage people to walk with us a couple of times before joining as a member.
How much? Membership of the Class costs £5.00 per annum. The yearly season is from the 3rd weekend in March to the end of the second weekend in March of the following year. If you would like to become a member join us on a walk and pay the £5.00 membership fee or send a cheque for £5.00 payable to "Spring Vale Rambling Class" complete with a 2nd class stamped address envelope to :
